Welcome

.
THANK YOU to all families who contributed to our gift basket for pizza bingo. Blake's mom did a great job of gathering and putting together items with an automotive theme. Our
W-C PTA does so much to help our school be its best.
NEEDED: GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS
Please clip the Box Tops for Education coupons found on all General Mills products (from cereal to tissue) and send in to school. They are worth 10 cents each for Wahl-Coates, and PTA uses them to buy materials for our school.
PENCIL CHECK:
I am sharpening and setting out a half dozen pencils a day and the pencil cup is empty each afternoon. Please ensure that your student has pencils. Today's pencils (I'm showing my age here) are not of the quality I remember from my days in school. They are difficult to sharpen and don't last long. You'll probably need to purchase some throughout the year.
REMINDERS:
* Sign in at the office if you come to visit us at Wahl-Coates. Thanks!
* Please do not pick up students from school early unless it is necessary. If you need to get children before 2:30 p.m., be sure to have them check the next day about instruction that has been missed. Also, check for missed work any day that students are absent.
Third is my absolute favorite grade, and it is a BIG leap from the primary grades (K-2) to the intermediate grades (3-5). Working as a team, students, families, and I can make this a spectacular year of achievement and growth. Teamwork is key!
Please keep all family contact information current and accurate. Families -- expect to hear from me frequently with lots of compliments and any concerns. I use email, text, phone, purple folders, planners . . . whatever ways can keep the team in touch.
3. On Aug. 25 and every school night thereafter, read your student's planner, verify that all homework has been completed, and sign the planner.
